Stepping Out Takes a Walk on the Wild Side
Several chapter Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma events have found a new home this year – the local zoo! Lower Great Lakes Chapter and New England Chapter have both hosted zoo walks in 2025, with other chapters making plans for zoo walks of their own in the new year.
“The walk ended inside the zoo so everyone could enjoy the rest of the day,” walk organizer Leeann Enix said, “it was so much fun to see teal all over the zoo having a fabulous time.”
Be sure to keep an eye out for exciting new walks as we get ready for 2026 by visiting www.scleroderma.org/steppingout.

New England Chapter Takes Patient Education Out of the Classroom and Into the Lab
The New England Chapter recently hosted a special Patient Education Event at Dr. Jonathan Garlick’s lab at Tufts University, giving patients and families the rare opportunity to step directly into the world of research.
Guided by Dr. Jonathan Garlick and Dr. Michael Whitfield of Dartmouth College, participants gained an accessible, meaningful look at cutting-edge research. The experience not only deepened understanding of how discoveries are made but also highlighted the connection between research and the lived experiences of people with scleroderma.

Celebrating Food, Strength, and Stories
The Rocky Mountain Chapter hosts the 9th Annual Food Fight event! Each year, more than 100 people come together to celebrate local chefs and the strength of those living with scleroderma.
This exciting event offers food lovers and Foundation supporters the chance to mingle with top talents from Denver’s favorite establishments. Each participant enjoys delectable bites and creative cocktails while voting for the best competitor in the savory, sweet, and sip categories. A signature event for the Denver scleroderma community, this event annually raises more than $85,000 for the Denver scleroderma community.

Fore! for a Cure
The 21st Annual Golf Classic for the Cure of Scleroderma, co-chaired by the dedicated Bruce Gordon and David Rosenberg, brought together loyal supporters, new participants, and friends of the Foundation and the New England Chapter for a meaningful day of golf, community, and purpose.
For more than two decades, the Golf Classic has served as a beacon of hope and a powerful reminder of the strength of our community.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we are proud to share that together we raised over $142,390 to support the National Scleroderma Foundation’s mission.
