Advancing Scleroderma Care: Mayo Clinic Jacksonville to Host Educational Program

The National Scleroderma Foundation’s Florida & Puerto Rico Chapter, in partnership with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, will host Scleroderma Insights: Advancing Knowledge, Improving Care on Friday, April 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville’s Duan Family Building.

This free, in-person educational program is designed for patients, caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals seeking the latest information on scleroderma diagnosis, treatment, and care management.

Attendees will hear from leading Mayo Clinic specialists, including Dr. Vikas Majithia (Chair of Rheumatology), Dr. Andy Abril (Rheumatology), Dr. Hassan Baig (Pulmonary), Dr. Maria Vazquez (Gastroenterology), and Dr. Ernesto Ayala (Hematology-Oncology). Topics will include emerging therapies such as CAR-T, multidisciplinary care approaches, and management of complications including interstitial lung disease (ILD).

The program will also provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and connect with others in the scleroderma community.

The weekend of engagement continues the following day with the Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Walk – Jacksonville, bringing the community together to raise awareness, honor loved ones, and support critical research and patient programs.

Space for the April 10 program is limited, and advance registration is required.
