The National Scleroderma Foundation, a relentless force in finding a cure and improving the lives of people affected by scleroderma, recently announced the promotion of Amanda Graham, MPA, to Vice President for Chapter Advancement.
Amanda joined the Foundation team in January 2023 and brings 20 years of nonprofit experience to the role. She received her master’s degree in public administration from New York University, with an emphasis on nonprofit management. She has worked and consulted for several nonprofit organizations, women’s health, counseling and social service agencies, and international charities. Amanda lives west of Denver with her husband, two children, and numerous pets.
“We are grateful for Amanda’s leadership and service on behalf of people living with scleroderma, no matter where they are geographically or in their diagnostic journey. By providing education locally through our chapters, we’re able to serve more people nationally,” shared Mary Wheatley, CEO of the Foundation. “Amanda’s dedication and efforts to elevate the work of our chapters has helped expand our impact nationwide.”
As Vice President for Chapter Advancement, Amanda will lead a cross-functional regional team focused on delivering educational programming locally via chapters, fundraising via major gifts portfolios and special events, all while building a robust volunteer pipeline nationally.
“It is truly an honor to serve the scleroderma community and the National Scleroderma Foundation,” Graham said. “I am proud of the work that we do across our chapters to ensure that people living with scleroderma have access to the resources and support they deserve, no matter where they live.”
This move reflects the Foundation’s commitment to its community of more than 300,000 Americans living with some form of scleroderma. The face of scleroderma includes people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. Scleroderma can affect young adults, children, grandparents, and teenagers. By speaking with one voice, the Foundation amplifies the mission and message of this community on a national scale, ensuring everyone impacted by scleroderma is supported with quality programs, education, and research. The Foundation’s thirteen chapters provide programs and services to support everyone impacted by scleroderma in their journey.
