2026 Scleroderma Awareness Month Toolkit

Building recognition and understanding of scleroderma and its impact on individuals and families

Join us as a Beacon of Hope

June is Scleroderma Awareness Month, and each year, we are inspired by the power and strength of our community. We all draw power from the stories of strength shared by members of our community, we find optimism in the latest research that promises better tomorrows, and we raise awareness by lighting communities across the country teal. In all of it, we feel hope.

That’s why this year, we are embracing and celebrating our Beacons of Hope. This June we want to celebrate all of those who bring hope to our community. We want to share stories of where we have turned in those times we needed a little more hope. In celebrating the strength and hope within our community, we will let the world know more about scleroderma and the support our community needs.

Everyone at the Foundation is incredibly grateful for the support and partnership we receive from organizations like yours. Your commitment to amplifying the messages of communities like ours helps us raise even more awareness.

If you have the time in your busy communication schedule, we hope you may be able to use our social media toolkit to share a message of support during Scleroderma Awareness Month or during our recognition of World Scleroderma Day on June 29.

We’ll be using #BeaconsofHope on our social media channels to help connect the stories of hope from across the country. If you have not connected with us on social media already, you can find us using @SclerodermaUS on FacebookInstagram, and LinkedIn

Please find the toolkit below, where we’ve built standardized social media images, written a few social media captions for your consideration, and included links to some of our key sites and pages during the month.

Awareness Month will culminate on World Scleroderma Day, June 29. World Scleroderma Day highlights the need to increase awareness of scleroderma and to advocate for those affected by this life-threatening disease.  June 29 was selected in 2009 by FESCA (Federation of European Scleroderma Associations) as World Scleroderma Day to commemorate Paul Klee, a gifted abstract artist who died of systemic sclerosis on June 29, 1940.

The Foundation has put together some potential captions to help with your posts supporting the scleroderma community during Scleroderma Awareness Month. June is Scleroderma Awareness Month. Join us in raising awareness of scleroderma, a rare autoimmune disease that affects connective tissue and can impact the skin, lungs, heart, kidneys, and digestive system.

An estimated 300,000 Americans are living with scleroderma, yet many patients still face delayed diagnosis, limited treatment options, and a lack of public awareness.

We stand with the scleroderma community in advocating for earlier diagnosis, better treatments, increased research, and support for every person affected.
