Pediatric Systemic Sclerosis
Systemic Sclerosis

Systemic sclerosis and localized scleroderma are different diseases. Localized scleroderma does not turn into systemic sclerosis. Very rarely, children can have both types of scleroderma, either localized first or systemic first.

Children and families can receive the care they need at Designated Scleroderma Research & Treatment Centers with pediatric rheumatoligists who specialize in scleroderma. Go to the “Find a Treatment Center” page.
